Much Better

So today is already a thousand times better than yesterday. I have exciting plans, the sun is shining bright, and I'm about to embark on a weekend full of art, relaxation, great views, even better friends, and re-cooperation! My good mood technically started last night when I got home from work. I needed to just lay down for a while and vent and relax. Then Tody and I took tons of cool pictures and I got to release a little more tension. After a long nap and some yummy tv time with my boys I was fixed and back to normal.

So other than this swollen uvula and slightly runny nose I am feeling back to my happy ol' self. I really hope this all clears up this weekend and doesn't get worse. I can't afford to miss any work. Even though... I'm positive it was the kids that got me sick in the first place. But I don't need to be prolonging their illness by giving them  my unique strain of it.

So to everyone out that that contributed even a little to cheering me up - and there are much more of you than you might realize -

Resonate: to relate harmoniously

Butler's story is about a person in a stagnate relationship trying so hard to be heard and loved. The relationship went on too long. The husband should have taken the cues in the beginning of the end, when his wife was looking away and they were drifting apart. He would have saved himself a lot of heartache.
I haven't decided whether or not it was needed or not, for him to heal. The husband did not want to let his love go. He, perhaps, needed that last encounter to show him nothing was ever going to change and he should have let things fly away a long time ago.
Either way it is beautifully articulated by his brave suicide. That emerald parrot with a yellow nape showed no cowardice as he took control of his fate. I respect the jealous husband. Even though he still loved her, still wanted her, still felt a need for her and knew there was a great barrier between him and the rest of his life, he flew. He had the self respect to choose the unknown over succumbing to a state of complacency that negates healthy and proper communication.

Home

I love Seattle. I think everyone who knows me in any way at any level knows that about me. I love the art you can find haphazardly stuck to any and all touchable surfaces. I love the adorable enthusiasm of almost everyone you meet. I even have a soft spot for the sporadic and nonsensical one way streets that make up this hilly city.
Pike's Place may be a huge tourist attraction... but it's for the locals at heart. The majority of the gum on the brick wall in the alley are from Seattle mouths, we know exactly when to get our doughnuts so we don't have to stand in that line that winds practically down the stairs. We know when to avoid the overlook park because the sad genocide people are protesting. The fish smell barely registers as we easily navigate through the holiday standing-room-only crowds.
And we know which performers are worth the pause, and which sellers can entertain just as well.

Love Knows No Laws

Congratulations to my beautiful sister and my amazing friend for making that public promise and acknowledgment to only be with one another. They have loved, lived, cared, and learned from eachother for the past eight years, they know this is exactly what they want forever.
Finding another person who accepts you and still enjoys and respects you is the secret that ever guy and girl out there are looking for. It's not impossible if you expand your horizons, there are millions of people out there if you take the time to meet them.

New Love

Nothing can replace love lost, but a new kitten isn't too bad either.

Born Again

Not in the biblical sense. Although other sayings pop into my head that follow along those lines. When God closes a door he opens a window. God has a plan for you.

But I however do not believe in a Christian God that pays attention to the inner workings of our day to day lives. Our reason for existence and the meaning of life are both unanswerable questions on their own, yet put together they answer each other. The reason for existence is to search for the meaning of life in your own way. And the meaning of life is to find your reason to exist. That love that drives you, that passion you have inside you that breaks through when you live at your fullest.

Love lost forces you to start anew. Born again, if you will.
So what do you do when that love that drove you before no longer wants to be a part of the ride?
